Becoming parents must be one of the most life-altering and transformative experiences this human life has to offer. When asked to design and develop cards to celebrate the birth of a child, we zoomed in on that transformative aspect. A pregnant, happy couple when the card is closed, but once you open it – an extended, even happier family.

After the story is clear to us, we start creating. In 3 rounds of sketching, drawing, and detailing, we create a card that not only celebrates the birth of a child, but celebrates the family as a whole. We deliver a design that focuses on the transformation of pregnancy to birth and on the uniqueness and personality of the client.
Next to that, we offer full service design and development, meaning we will handle printing and transport so that the parents can put their focus where it should be – their newborn.
When a couple asks us to make a design for them, we start by having a lighthearted but personal conversation. We want to know all the little details that are significant to their story. What makes their bond, their family so unique? Together we find some markers of their appearance, habits, preferences, quirks or relationship of which those closest to them would say – OMG, that's so you! Basically, we find what their story is, as a family. That story – as always – is the start, the middle and the end of our process together.

"We came into contact with Studio True Stories through a card at the birth center when we were about 30 weeks pregnant. Based on our story during a short briefing, Janna & Yasmin quickly came up with 3 proposals for a card. We found all of them so nice and unique that we ultimately chose a combination of elements from all three. The girls proved to be extremely flexible in making minor adjustments until all the details were perfect. And in offering extra service so that we can also have the drawing beautifully on the wall :) We are incredibly happy with how the card has turned out and have received a lot of positive responses!"
